Popular Ghanaian rapper, Medikal, has paid a solemn visit to the Chief of Sowutuom, Nii Osabu Akwei Ofoli I, to commiserate with him following the tragic loss of his son, Abu Governor. The young heir’s life was cut short during a violent clash at the recently celebrated Homowo festival, sending shockwaves through the Sowutuom community and beyond.
Medikal, who hails from Sowutuom, described the incident as deeply painful and expressed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family. In a touching moment, the rapper recalled personal conversations and plans he had shared with the late Abu Governor, noting that they had envisioned ambitious projects to put Sowutuom on the map.
“They really wanted to take Sowutuom far,” one community member shared, echoing the late prince’s passion for development.
The unexpected tragedy has left the Chief and the entire community in mourning, while also sparking renewed calls for peace and unity during traditional festivities. Medikal’s visit, however, highlighted the rapper’s enduring connection to his roots and his solidarity with the Sowutuom people in their time of grief.
As the town continues to process the heartbreaking loss, tributes pour in for Abu Governor a young life full of promise, taken too soon.
