The Ministry of Education has refuted claims made on Daily Graphics front page on Feburary 4, 2025 indicating that the ministry is set to halt the payments of teacher training allowances to students.
In a statement, the Ministry clarified government’s position, emphasizing its dedication to exploring innovative solutions to support students pursuing higher education in these institutions thereby describing daily graphic’s publication as ‘misleading’
“The Hon. Minister, during his interaction with Executives of the Principals of Colleges of
Education (PRINCOF), explained that Government is open to augmenting the financial needs of students in the Colleges of Education. To this end, he indicated that Government would seek to consider an enhanced loan scheme for students in this category, if need be” the statement explained.
Conclusively, the education ministry has tasked daily graphics to make appropriate corrections to their publication. It further urged all media firms to verify information from the ministry in order to clear all doubts.
