Celebrated Ghanaian actor Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr. Beautiful, has officially been sworn in as a member of the newly constituted governing board of the Creative Arts Agency.

The announcement was made public on August 5 via a social media post that introduced all 13 board members to Ghanaians for the first time. The new board includes notable personalities such as former journalist and opera singer Kokui Selormey and award-winning actress Akorfa Edjeani Asiedu.

Photos circulating online show Mr. Beautiful signing his contract and taking the official oath of office. The images also capture the board members posing alongside Ghana’s Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, under whose leadership the agency operates.

Mr. Beautiful, known for his strong political affiliations with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former President John Dramani Mahama, is expected to bring his extensive experience in film and advocacy to the development of the arts sector.

The Creative Arts Agency was established through the Creative Arts Industry Act, 2020 (Act 1048), with the mandate to provide a structured and strategic framework for the promotion, development, and regulation of Ghana’s creative arts industry. The agency is tasked with addressing key issues in the sector and ensuring sustainable growth for practitioners.

Stakeholders in the creative industry have welcomed the new board and expressed hope that it will drive impactful policies and initiatives to uplift Ghana’s vibrant arts and entertainment landscape.
