NDC Rallies Support for Baba Jamal Ahead of Ayawaso East By-Election.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has intensified its campaign efforts in the Ayawaso East constituency, with the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, expressing strong confidence in the party’s parliamentary candidate, Baba Jamal, ahead of the upcoming by-election.Speaking during the party’s final rally in the constituency following a visit the previous day, Mr. Asiedu Nketia highlighted the importance of experience and dedication in parliamentary performance. He noted that Members of Parliament who have previously worked at the party’s national headquarters often demonstrate exceptional competence and effectiveness in Parliament.

According to him, such individuals possess a deep understanding of the party’s structure, values, and legislative priorities, which positions them to better serve both the party and their constituents.Mr. Asiedu Nketia made these remarks while rallying support for Baba Jamal, whom he described as a capable and experienced leader ready to represent the people of Ayawaso East. He expressed optimism that Baba Jamal would deliver strong representation and help advance the constituency’s interests on the national stage.

Addressing supporters at the rally, Baba Jamal pledged his commitment to transforming the constituency’s fortunes. He acknowledged concerns among residents that Ayawaso East has long been sidelined in national development and parliamentary influence. He assured constituents that, if elected, he would work closely with community members, party leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure the constituency gains the recognition and development it deserves.

“I am going to work with all of you so that this constituency, which has been relegated to the background, will take its rightful position in Parliament,” Baba Jamal told an enthusiastic crowd of supporters.In a moment of solemn reflection, Mr. Asiedu Nketia also addressed the passing of the late Nasr Toure Mahama, emphasizing the party’s responsibility to support the bereaved family. He stated that the wife and children of the late party member remain the collective responsibility of the NDC and assured supporters that the party would ensure their welfare and wellbeing are taken care of.

Additionally, Mr. Asiedu Nketia clarified the status of Umaru Sanda, an independent candidate contesting in the by-election. He firmly stated that Umaru Sanda is no longer a member of the NDC, putting to rest any speculation regarding his affiliation with the party.The Ayawaso East by-election has attracted significant political attention, with the NDC positioning Baba Jamal as the candidate capable of restoring strong representation and bringing renewed focus to the constituency. Party leaders have expressed confidence that the momentum generated during the campaign’s final rally will translate into victory at the polls.
