Omankrado Nana Yemoah Criticizes Kasoa Polyclinic for Substandard Healthcare Services

By: Emmanuel Amoah

Omankrado Nana Yemoah, the distinguished media personality and traditional leader of Nkusukum Opem, has voiced his deep dissatisfaction with the quality of healthcare services provided at the Kasoa Government Polyclinic. His concerns stem from a recent personal experience that left him frustrated with the clinic’s inefficiencies and lack of professionalism.

Omankrado Nana Yemoah recounted his visit to the polyclinic on Sunday, August 4, 2024. He described a troubling encounter, beginning with an unnecessarily lengthy wait of nearly 30 minutes to rectify errors with his patient card. The situation was further aggravated by the dismissive attitude of a female doctor, who was both unfriendly and unprofessional in her conduct.

Nana Yemoah also highlighted the plight of other patients, including an elderly woman, who were left unattended for almost an hour after completing their lab tests due to the doctor’s premature departure. Upon her return, the doctor exhibited an irritated demeanor, going so far as to remark, “We will pay for her dropping fare,” in reference to one of the patients.

Reflecting on his experience, Omankrado Nana Yemoah underscored the growing preference for private healthcare facilities over government ones, driven by such unsatisfactory encounters. He called on the government and the Ministry of Health to address these persistent issues, urging them to monitor healthcare workers more closely and to consider increasing the number of doctors assigned to government hospitals to ensure more effective and compassionate care.

Nana Yemoah’s experience underscores the ongoing challenges within Ghana’s public healthcare system. His call to action serves as a reminder of the urgent need for improvements in government hospitals to provide quality healthcare and restore public confidence.
