PNC Flagbearer to Appeal High Court Ruling at Supreme Court

Bernard Mornah, flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), has vowed to challenge the High Court’s dismissal of his suit against the Electoral Commission’s decision to disqualify him from the 2024 presidential election.

Speaking to the media on October 21, Mr Mornah expressed confidence in the validity of his claims, emphasizing the need for a higher court to review the case.

He questioned the Electoral Commission’s decision, stating that they made mistakes on their own forms, yet candidates are not allowed to make errors.

The flagbearer argued that the judge failed to consider these discrepancies and that his lawyers are already preparing to petition the Supreme Court for further interpretation.

“The EC made mistakes on their own forms, and we’re not allowed to make mistakes. The judge didn’t look at that, and that defies ordinary thinking,” Mornah said.

He instructed his lawyers to quickly study the case and prepare for the appeal.

Mr Mornah’s disqualification, along with ten other candidates, has sparked controversy.

He believes the Supreme Court will provide clarity on the matter, ensuring fairness in the electoral process. With his legal team on board, Mornah is determined to see this case through to its conclusion.
