President John Dramani Mahama has announced the appointment of 18 Deputy Heads of Missions to serve in Ghana’s diplomatic missions across the globe. The appointments, communicated through a letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, and dated September 11, 2025, form part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s foreign relations and enhance its diplomatic presence internationally.
According to the official document issued from the Office of the President, the newly appointed Deputy Heads of Missions have been carefully selected to represent Ghana in some of the world’s most strategic nations.
Below is the full list of appointees and their respective missions:
- Dr. Palmer Appiah-Gyan – Federal Republic of Germany
- Francisca Patoah Gyarko – Swiss Federation
- Ben Dotsei Maior – United States of America
- Harry Zevon, Ph.D. – The People’s Republic of China
- General Thomas Oppong-Peprah – Canada
- Sulemana Ibun Iddrisu – Republic of India
- Aquinas Quansah – United Kingdom of Great Britain & Ireland
- George Harrison – Republic of Korea
- Jamilatu Amadu – United Arab Emirates
- Emmanuel Netsey-Afedo – The Netherlands
- Sophia Karen Edem Ackuaku – Italian Republic
- Francis Thalamus Doe – Japan
- Sanni Jajah – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
- Kwadwo Agyei-Dwomor – Republic of Türkiye
- Emmanuel Kamban Panyan – Russian Federation
- Alhaji Mohammed Seidu Issah Abah – Republic of South Africa
- Mohammed Ibn Abass – Arab Republic of Egypt
- Rev. Isaac Clive Mould, Ph.D. – The Kingdom of Denmark
The letter, addressed to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, directed that all necessary steps be taken to facilitate the appointment process for the listed individuals.
It further indicated that the appointments reflect the President’s commitment to effective international cooperation, diplomacy, and representation of Ghana’s interests abroad.
Copies of the communication were also sent to the Vice President and the Chief of Staff at the Jubilee House.
These appointments mark a significant step in bolstering Ghana’s diplomatic corps and ensuring effective engagement with the international community.
