In a charged atmosphere filled with cheers and optimism, President Mahama addressed a large crowd of party supporters, traditional leaders, and residents, highlighting his administration’s firm commitment to fulfilling key development projects in the Eastern Region.

Among his top priorities is the completion of the Eastern Regional Hospital, a critical healthcare facility whose final phase is expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery in the region. He assured the people that work on the hospital will be fast-tracked to ensure timely delivery.

President Mahama also announced plans to construct a bridge over the Afram River, a long-awaited infrastructure that will enhance connectivity, trade, and transportation for communities across the Afram Plains. He noted that the project has been on the drawing board for too long and now deserves urgent action.

He further promised to complete all stalled road projects, particularly in the Krobo area and other neglected parts of the region. The President emphasized that roads are lifelines for economic growth, access to healthcare, and education, and his administration would treat them with the urgency they deserve.

In response to growing concerns about water supply, President Mahama reaffirmed his government’s dedication to seeing through the Koforidua Water Supply Expansion Project, which aims to provide safe and reliable water to thousands of residents.

Youth development also featured prominently in the President’s remarks. He pledged to introduce new initiatives aimed at equipping young people with skills, creating sustainable jobs, and expanding opportunities across various sectors of the economy.

President Mahama’s tour is being seen not just as an act of gratitude, but as a reaffirmation of his administration’s contract with the people. Residents have welcomed the renewed promises with cautious optimism.

“The accountability has been activated. We keep EagleEye. Promises must be fulfilled,” a local youth group posted on social media following the event.

As President Mahama continues his tour across the country, his stop in Koforidua has reignited hope and placed a renewed sense of expectation on his government to deliver on its pledges to the people of the Eastern Region.
