Prof. Joshua Alabi Appointed New Board Chairman of GCB Bank.

GCB Bank PLC has appointed Professor Joshua Alabi as its new Board Chairman, following the resignation of Mr. Daniel Kwaku Tweneboah Asirifi. Professor Alabi is a well-respected academic, administrator, and business strategist with over three decades of experience in academia, public service, and corporate leadership.

As a seasoned leader, Professor Alabi has held several high-profile positions, including Chairman of HFC Bank, where he successfully led its transformation into Republic Bank. His expertise in leadership, governance, and strategic planning will be invaluable to GCB Bank’s Board of Directors.

Professor Alabi’s appointment is expected to drive GCB Bank’s vision of becoming a key player in Ghana’s banking sector. He aims to foster innovation, operational efficiency, and customer-centric services, ultimately strengthening GCB’s position as a leading financial institution in Ghana and beyond.

In his statement, Professor Alabi expressed his gratitude to the Board of Directors for their confidence in him. He emphasized his commitment to working tirelessly with the Board and management to achieve GCB’s goals.

Notably, Professor Alabi has served in various leadership roles, including as a Member of Parliament, Regional Minister, and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). His diverse background is seen as a significant asset for GCB Bank’s growth trajectory.
