Renowned Ghanaian radio broadcaster Kofi Asare Brako, popularly known as Abatay, has captured national attention after an emotional revelation during a recent live interview. The respected media personality broke down in tears as he opened up about what he described as his greatest regret in life not raising his children with a strong foundation in the Christian faith.
Abatay, who made his name as a seasoned voice on Peace FM and other prominent stations, shared that he encountered Christ later in life. According to him, the late realisation of the importance of spiritual guidance left him pained, especially regarding the impact it might have had on his children.
“If I had prioritised my faith earlier, my family’s life would undoubtedly have taken a different, more positive course. This is my most profound regret,” he said with emotion.
Abatay’s heartfelt confession was not only a reflection of personal remorse but also a powerful message to the youth and parents alike. He advised young people to take their spiritual lives seriously and not to wait until later in life to build a relationship with God.
“My experiences have taught me that every parent should strive to introduce their children to the tenets of Christianity, a secret I regret not knowing earlier,” he said.
The broadcaster’s emotional moment has since gone viral on social media, with many users offering words of encouragement and support. His sincerity has touched many, sparking widespread conversations about faith, parenting, and life’s priorities.
Abatay further encouraged parents who are believing God for children or going through difficult seasons to remain steadfast in prayer and to look to biblical figures for inspiration.
“Just as Abraham waited until he was 75 to have a child and was promised by God to become the father of many nations, I encourage parents to draw strength from that story. God can perform wonders in our lives,” he said.
In closing, Kofi Asare Brako Abatay left his audience with a message of hope and redemption:
“I often find myself in tears when I reflect on my past choices, but I hold on to the belief that it’s never too late to turn things around.”
His story is a poignant reminder that no matter how far one may feel from their spiritual calling, there is always a path back to purpose and it’s never too late to choose it.
