Ghana’s Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, to enhance collaboration between the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and the Ghana Police Service.
This was the first official meeting between the two leaders and served as a platform to build stronger ties aimed at intensifying the fight against corruption through coordinated enforcement strategies.
Mr. Agyebeng emphasized the importance of a close partnership with the Police Service, noting that although the OSP operates with independent powers under Act 959, effective law enforcement demands operational cooperation with the Police.

He highlighted the need to utilize the Police Service’s extensive presence across the country to boost the OSP’s reach and impact.
IGP Yohuno welcomed the move and reaffirmed the Police Administration’s dedication to supporting the OSP. He stressed that eliminating corruption requires united institutional efforts and pledged to strengthen collaboration, especially in intelligence sharing, to promote accountability and enhance national law enforcement.
Members of the Police Management Board present praised the OSP’s commitment to the anti-corruption mission and urged Mr. Agyebeng to stay resolute in fulfilling his mandate.
They also expressed readiness for continued inter-agency cooperation.
The Special Prosecutor was accompanied by Mr. Emmanuel Basintale, Director of Investigations at the OSP.
The Police delegation included senior officers such as COP Iddi Lansah Seidu, COP Ernest Owusu, COP Okyere Darko Asumadu, DCOP Kofi Blagodzie, and others.
