Award-winning dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has stirred conversation online after disclosing that former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has blocked him on social media.
In an interaction with fans, Stonebwoy revealed that he has always admired both Gyan and Togolese football legend Emmanuel Adebayor, describing them as “big brothers” he respects deeply.
“I have big brothers I respect a lot. Emmanuel Adebayor is one of them, and of course, Asamoah Gyan. He has been like a big brother to me for a long time,” he shared.
While his relationship with Adebayor remains cordial and intact, Stonebwoy disclosed that communication with Asamoah Gyan had dwindled. Curious about the distance, he checked and was shocked to discover he had been blocked.
“I hardly hear from him lately, but the last time I checked, I was blocked,” the “Into the Future” hitmaker revealed, expressing visible disappointment.
The revelation has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with fans quickly taking to X to share their thoughts.
One user, @walkwithkob, suggested Stonebwoy should turn the experience into art, writing:
“This one die, if I be Stonebwoy I go just turn am into hit song. By next week Gyan go unblock sharp Accra drama no dey finish!”
Another user, @Ayam Bornbless1, speculated on the possible reasons behind the fallout:
“Interviews preaching unity but hide behind boys to spread hate that be why them block am.”
A more critical take came from @stnrboy:
“He’s not even ashamed to proclaim this… Ired n ungrateful man like him..tsw!”
The online discourse shows that while some sympathize with Stonebwoy, others suspect deeper issues behind the strained relationship. As of now, neither Asamoah Gyan nor his representatives have commented publicly on the matter.
