Acting chief executive officer of students loan trust fund (sltf), Saadija Shiraz on Friday, February 28 approved some 9,433 disbursements of loans across 62 private and public tertiary institutions in the country.
In a facebook post, Dr. Shiraz acknowledged the delay in releasing funds to students who have applied to receive financial support.
“I however apologise for the late disbursements” she stated.
She added that plans are underway to ensure swift and timely disbursements of loans under her watch as CEO. “and promise that the SLTF under my stewardship will be more intentional about timely disbursements in furtherance of our mission to provide timely financial services to eligible Ghanaian tertiary students.” she affirmed.

She further declared her support to president John Dramani Mahama’s impending student’s loan plus initiative – an advanced form of the students loan trust fund which intends to provide an improved form of tertiary education
financing system.
She added that measures are been instituted to ensure the seamless implementation of the SLTF plus policy.
Students Loan Trust Fund is a subsidiary of the ministry of education and disburses loans to students of accredited tertiary institutions across the country.
