Tertiary Business Sense Challenge: KNUST, UGBS, UEW Secure Spots in Finals

The prestigious Tertiary Business Sense Challenge (TBSC) has reached its final stage, with three top institutions, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), and defending champions University of Education, Winneba (UEW) set to compete for the coveted title.

After battling through intense rounds, the finalists emerged victorious in Version 6.0 of the competition, which has been a showcase of business acumen and strategic thinking.

KNUST secured their place in the final by defeating long-time rivals, the University of Cape Coast (UCC), in a nail-biting contest that ended 75.5 to 62.5. The encounter, which attracted students from various universities, was especially significant for KNUST, as they avenged multiple past defeats to UCC. Both teams started strongly, tied at 16 points after the first round. However, KNUST pulled ahead in the second round with strong performance in the calculation segment, creating an eight-point lead. UCC mounted a comeback in the third and fourth rounds, eventually taking a 5.2-point lead. But KNUST’s resilience shone through in the final riddles round, where they scored 10 points to clinch the victory and earn a spot in the final for the second consecutive year.

UEW had a smoother path to the finals, defeating the University for Development Studies (UDS) with a commanding score of 60.5 to 28.16. Dominating from start to finish, UEW’s performance left no doubt about their intentions to defend their title.

UGBS also secured their place in the final after overpowering SD Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SD-DBIDS) with a decisive 73.17 to 41.67 victory. Their dominant display rounded off an exciting semi-final stage.

The TBSC, sponsored by MTN Ghana, PwC, Glico Group, Compu Ghana, Goil Ghana, and GNAT, promises a thrilling finale as KNUST, UGBS, and UEW vie for this year’s championship.
