The Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA) has issued a statement addressing delays in container delivery and evacuation at the port of Tema. The GSA clarified that shippers should not bear costs from delays not caused by them, responding to issues stemming from scanner breakdowns and system glitches that have hindered cargo clearance.

The GSA urged all cargo stakeholders, including consignees and service providers, to report any costs incurred due to these delays. The authority pledged to investigate these claims and may offer refunds if the delays are attributed to systemic failures rather than the shippers’ actions.
