Being a mother indeed involves immense sacrifices, from the physical challenges of childbirth to the emotional labor of nurturing and caring for children. Mothers often put their children’s needs before their own, making sacrifices in their careers, personal time, and well-being.

Often times , mothers are considered the pillars of strength, love, and guidance in our lives. In the month of May, every year, Ghana joins the rest of the world to celebrate motherly figures for their immense sacrifices and selfless dedication to procreation.

This years mothers day celebration will be observed on Sunday, May 11, 2025 across all religious organizations, corporate institutions and in various homes.

The irony that comes with this celebration lies on social media platforms where children share beautiful images with encouraging captions about how incredible their mothers have being without expressing such genuine words in person.

Most times, some mothers are not even active on these social media platforms to receive the bountiful love and attention on across these platforms.

Let us change this narrative, directly expressing kind words to motherly figures on this special day is the modest way to express appreciation to mothers for their selfless love.

Small gifts is also another form, this act of generosity motivates mothers and
provides validation that their numerous years of sacrifices, dedication and support to their children has not gone down the drain, but has been highly recognized.

This Sunday, let’s come together to appreciate the motherly figures in our lives who provide love, support, and care. A simple act of kindness can bring joy and comfort, reminding them of their importance and the difference they make. Let’s spread love and gratitude!
