Former Arsenal and Ghana international football star, Thomas Partey, has been granted conditional bail after appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, where he was charged with five counts of rape against two women and one count of sexual assault against a third woman.

The 32-year-old midfielder is facing serious legal trouble as the alleged offences are said to have occurred between 2021 and 2022, during his time at Arsenal.

During the brief court session, which lasted under 15 minutes, Partey was not required to enter a plea. However, he confirmed that he understood the charges and the bail conditions set by the court.

As part of his bail terms, Partey is prohibited from contacting any of the three complainants and must inform police of any permanent change of address or international travel. He has denied all allegations of rape and sexual assault and has been granted bail pending further legal proceedings.

The case has now been transferred to the Crown Court, with Thomas Partey scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on September 2 for the next hearing.

Despite the ongoing legal matter, Partey is now set to join his new club, Villarreal CF, having already completed his medical.
