Recent surges in cholera cases in the Agona West District in the Central Region has killed 3 people diagnosed of the disease.
Out of 214 suspected cases in the district, 11 were confirmed with the disease last Thursday, January 23, 2025. 3 persons out of the 11 are now reported dead after several treatment.
The Agona West Municipal Coordinating Director, Simon Asare has described the situation as dire indicating that the highest number of cholera cases recorded in the district were from Agona Nkum.
Reports reveal that efforts are underway to eradicate the surge of the cholera disease in the district. The Swedru Ghana water company is speeding up operations to provide clean and portable water to residents in the district.
Again, all households have been charged to provide toilet facilities to ensure proper hygiene in communities.
