At the 76th Speech and Prize-Giving Day of Ghana National College in Cape Coast, alumna Ewurabena Ahwoi delivered a keynote address emphasizing the critical role of time management in achieving life’s goals.

A distinguished member of the 1964-year group, Ahwoi underscored that cultivating strong time management skills is essential for success. She urged students to resist the temptation of procrastination, warning that delays can lead to missed opportunities and hinder personal and professional growth.

Ahwoi also encouraged students to lead by example and embrace positive habits, emphasizing that their actions today will shape their future. She highlighted the importance of being mindful of time and making the most of every moment.

In a complementary address, Egbert Isaac Faibille Jnr, CEO of the Petroleum Commission, called on educators to reassess the school’s teaching methods to ensure they support transformative education. He challenged students to set ambitious goals, push their limits, and steer clear of behaviors that could jeopardize their future.

The event also featured generous contributions from alumni, with the 1984-year group donating a 64-inch magnetic board to the school and the 2000-year group breaking ground for the construction of a new science hub.

Headmaster Joseph Ato Sarpong reinforced the importance of collective efforts in creating a conducive learning environment, advocating for a culture of discipline, respect, and inclusivity.

The ceremony concluded with the recognition of outstanding staff and students, who were awarded for their achievements. Phoruslla Tagoe, the protocol head girl, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the teachers, staff, and supporters who contributed to the success of the event.
