Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Donates GHC 250,000 Worth of Medicines to Support Cholera and CSM Response.

Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited has reinforced its commitment to public health by donating pharmaceutical products worth GHC 250,000 to the Ghana Health Service (GHS). The donation, aimed at supporting the fight against recent outbreaks of cholera and cerebrospinal meningitis (CSM), was presented during a brief ceremony at the GHS Headquarters in Accra.

Dr. Christopher Mensah, Managing Director of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, handed over the supplies on behalf of the Group CEO, Elder Dr. Nana Amo Tobin I. Speaking at the event, Dr. Mensah emphasized that the donation reflects Tobinco’s dedication to corporate social responsibility and its ongoing efforts to curb the recurrence of infectious diseases. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to providing quality and affordable medicines and encouraged other corporate organizations to support the government’s public health initiatives.

The Acting Director-General of the GHS, Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, received the donation, which included essential items such as hand sanitizers, antibiotics, and painkillers. He expressed appreciation for Tobinco’s generosity and assured that the supplies would be swiftly distributed to healthcare facilities in urgent need. Prof. Akoriyea also used the occasion to call on other corporate bodies to contribute to the national response and reiterated the importance of proper handwashing and hygiene practices in preventing the spread of cholera.

This gesture by Tobinco Pharmaceuticals highlights the crucial role of private-sector partnerships in strengthening Ghana’s healthcare system and tackling public health emergencies.
