Ghana is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Yabane Deladem Aku, a 21-year-old Level 400 Biological Science student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
According to reports from the university, her lifeless body was discovered behind the Central Laboratory on campus in the early hours of February 27, 2025. Although medical personnel from KNUST Hospital arrived at the scene, she was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
Following a crime scene examination, authorities observed signs of violence on her body, raising suspicions of foul play. Subsequently, Daniel Tuffour was arrested and is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
Amid the probe, social media discussions have surfaced, with some students alleging that Tuffour took Joana’s life at 5:00 a.m. before proceeding to class at 10:00 a.m. to write an exam.
As the investigation continues, a collection of Joana’s final recorded videos has surfaced online, sparking widespread grief and calls for justice.
Authorities are urging the public to allow due process as they work to uncover the full details surrounding this tragic incident.
