A devastating incident occurred at Mpraeso Senior High School in the Eastern Region, where five students were arrested for allegedly gang-raping a 16-year-old female student. Three more students involved are still at large.
The victim shared her horrific experience, saying she was approached by a male student while walking with a friend to the canteen. Seven others joined, and her friend left her side.
According to her, she is not aware of the conversation the suspects had with her friend but she abandoned her as the suspects forcibly had sex with her.
The incident she said occurred on Sunday and there was nobody around to render assistance.
“I have been to the hospital for the necessary check up and I want the suspects to face the full rigorous of the law,” she stated.
The headmaster, James Affadu confirmed the incident in an interview with Adom News.
Mr Afadu said the disciplinary committee has dismissed all eight boys and has handed over the case to the police for further investigation and appropriate action.
Meanwhile, the Nkwatia Divisional Police Command is yet to process the suspects to court for prosecution.
