The United States Embassy in Ghana has reiterated its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations by continuing to welcome Ghanaian citizens who seek to pursue academic, business, or investment opportunities in the United States through legal and transparent processes.

In an official communication shared via its verified social media platforms, the Embassy underscored its support for legitimate travel and exchange, while emphasizing the importance of full compliance with U.S. immigration laws.

“We remain committed to welcoming visitors from Ghana who wish to study, invest, or engage in business activities in the United States,” the Embassy stated.

The Embassy also issued a clear advisory against the use of unauthorized intermediaries, commonly referred to as “fixers” or visa consultants. It stressed that U.S. visa applications are handled exclusively through the official U.S. Department of State website and that the process does not require third-party facilitation or additional fees beyond the standard application charge.

“You do not need the services of a fixer or visa consultant to apply for a U.S. visa. This can be done directly through our official website at no extra cost,” the Embassy noted. “No fixer or consultant can guarantee a visa. Any such promises are deceptive and intended to defraud you.”

The statement also served as a caution to prospective travelers about the legal consequences of immigration fraud, including attempting to enter the United States illegally, providing false information during the visa process, working without authorization, or overstaying a visa.

Such actions, the Embassy warned, carry significant penalties and can result in long-term ineligibility for future travel to the United States.

This announcement forms part of the Embassy’s ongoing public awareness efforts to promote lawful travel, protect applicants from fraud, and uphold the integrity of the U.S. visa system. It further reflects the United States’ commitment to maintaining strong and lawful people-to-people ties with Ghana.

Ghanaians interested in traveling to the United States are encouraged to seek accurate information from official sources and to approach the visa application process with honesty and diligence.
