The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Ghana has successfully held the 3rd edition of its Nimdie Series, a transformative business clinic designed to equip Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with essential knowledge and tools to thrive in today’s digital economy.
This edition focused on digital marketing as a key driver of business growth, providing MSMEs with a practical understanding of its principles and advantages. The session also showcased real-life success stories of businesses that have harnessed digital marketing to achieve remarkable growth.
Dr. Edward Ampratwum, UNDP Governance and Growth lead, emphasized the importance of boosting MSMEs’ capacity, stating that it would increase their digital abilities and help them to know the relevant tools to employ to improve their digital entrepreneurship.
The UNDP has made significant investments in scaling up MSMEs through innovative challenges, mentorship, and capacity building in corporate governance.
The organization is also collaborating with the Ghana Enterprise Agency to create the “Digital Gateway Platform,” which will provide a market space for MSMEs to trade and engage.
Also, the UNDP is committed to ensuring that MSMEs take the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) seriously and actively participate in it.
The organization is working with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) to address obstacles that arise when conducting business across African borders.
The UNDP’s efforts formed part of its broader commitment to empowering Ghanaian entrepreneurs and fueling economic growth. By providing MSMEs with the necessary skills and knowledge, the organization aims to promote economic transformation and sustainable development in Ghana.
