By: Emmanuel Amoah

Renowned Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has opened up about the circumstances that led to his absence from Lil Win’s highly anticipated movie, “A Country Called Ghana.”

In an exclusive interview with Hello FM, Van Vicker disclosed that he was initially approached for the lead role of a British colonial master. However, he ultimately had to decline the offer due to his academic commitments. Van Vicker explained that the production required him to be on set for a full month, a commitment he couldn’t fulfill as a student.

“I was asked to be on set for an entire month, which I couldn’t accommodate because of my studies,” Van Vicker shared. “I proposed condensing my scenes into 10 days, but the production team rejected this plan.”

To his surprise, the role was later given to Nigerian actor Ramsey Nouah, who completed his scenes in the same 10 days Van Vicker had suggested.

“I didn’t decline the role entirely,” Van Vicker emphasized. “I gave a counter-proposal. Even if the production team had come back to negotiate an improvement on the days, we could have reached an agreement. The person they brought in also did ten days.”

Van Vicker expressed his disappointment, noting that the lack of communication and negotiation from the production team led to the missed opportunity. This incident underscores the challenges of balancing professional commitments with education and highlights the importance of effective communication in the film industry.

The actor’s candid revelation sheds light on the behind-the-scenes dynamics of film production and the need for flexibility and understanding to achieve the best outcomes for all parties involved.
