The Half Asini Police Division have apprehended two individuals spotted in a viral video physically assaulting a 12 – year – old at New Ankasa community near Elubo in the Western Region.
The viral video which sparked serious degrees of outrage across the various social media platforms saw suspects; Issah Morro – aged 58 and Suleman Abdul Rashid – aged 27 severely beating the 12 -year-old who was hanged to the roof of a building with a nylon rope.
It was revealed that the inhumane treatment served the minor is a form punishment for stealing GH￠200.00. Various factions of opinions have it that is was inappropriate to serve such a punishment to the minor.
However, the police have assured that the victim have undergone medical treatments and have been handed over to his father.
The two culprits are still in custody assisting with ongoing investigations. Importantly, the police service have advised the public to report such related inhume cases to the nearest police service.
