The Ghana Education Service (GES) has ordered the Headmaster of Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School in the Volta Region, Mr. Joshua Vidzro, to step aside from his position with immediate effect following allegations of sexual misconduct involving some female students.

The directive, dated Saturday, December 6, 2025, was issued by the Regional Directorate of Education on the instructions of the Director-General of GES. According to the official communication, the decision is part of efforts to enable an impartial and thorough investigation into the allegations.

GES indicated that the temporary removal of the Headmaster from office is necessary to preserve the integrity of the investigative process and prevent any possible interference, whether perceived or real.

Mr. Vidzro has been instructed to hand over all official duties, responsibilities, and school property in his possession to the Municipal Director of Education for Ketu North. He is also required to vacate the school premises effective Monday, December 8, 2025, after completing the handover.

Despite stepping aside, the Headmaster is expected to remain available to assist authorities throughout the investigation. The directive also cautions him against making any direct or indirect contact with the affected students or potential witnesses.

GES emphasized that the directive does not imply guilt but is an administrative action to ensure due process and uphold institutional accountability.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Director of Education for Ketu North has been tasked to take charge of the administration and management of Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School until further notice.
