Renowned Ghanaian actress and television host Nana Ama McBrown has shared an emotional and inspiring account of her divorce, health struggles, and personal growth, emphasizing respect, resilience, and the pursuit of happiness.

The revelations came during an in-depth interview with Cookie Tee on TV3, where McBrown spoke candidly about her life over the past two years. She explained that while she initially did not want to discuss her divorce publicly, she felt compelled to share her story to inspire others navigating similar challenges.

“I initially didn’t want to talk about my divorce, but I want to use my story to remind others that being divorced doesn’t mean you have to insult or disrespect each other, or turn into enemies,” she said.

Reflecting on the challenges she faced, McBrown revealed that her marriage, health, and work the three pillars she believed in most were all tested simultaneously.

“In the last two years, I’ve been so happy. What has changed? It’s been personal issues. I’ve gone through marriage issues, my health issues, and work. These three things I believed in fell apart. A lot of them fell apart, but I’m happy because I’ve been able to overcome them,” she shared.

McBrown did not shy away from admitting that she is divorced, but she emphasized that the experience has not defined her.
“Yes, I’ve gone through divorce. Yes, I’m divorced. And I’m not ashamed to say it. I did it so beautifully. Divorce should never be your end,” she said.

The actress also reflected on the importance of health, describing her recovery as a blessing beyond wealth.
“When it comes to health, sometimes not even money can save you. If you overcome health issues, it means God has saved you,” she said.

Despite the divorce, McBrown maintains a cordial and respectful relationship with her former husband and his family.
“Me and my husband are cool. We spoke yesterday, we speak today, we’ll speak tomorrow. I go to our house, my in-laws and everything. We are the best of friends,” she said.
“We were tired. He was tired. We sat down and said, let’s talk about it. Let’s move on. You go this way, let me go that way. If we meet again, fine. If we don’t, the most precious thing you’ve given me is my daughter.”

She also revealed that she continues to wear her wedding ring from her traditional marriage, out of respect for her former husband’s wishes.

In addition to speaking about her personal life, McBrown addressed her absence from television screens since May, explaining that she had undergone her fifth and final surgery.
“I was away from your screens since May because I had to do my 5th and final surgery,” she said.

Now back on screen, the actress expressed immense happiness and gratitude for her journey.
“As I sit here and come back on Onua, I must say I’m the happiest right now. Look, my darling, I am a happy woman,” she concluded.

Nana Ama McBrown’s honest reflections have resonated widely with fans and viewers, earning admiration for her strength, courage, and her powerful reminder that life after divorce can be filled with dignity, peace, and joy.
