Charlyn Fosuh, daughter of the late Ghanaian highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has clarified the circumstances surrounding her decision to withdraw her name from the ongoing letters of administration proceedings over her father’s estate.
Speaking publicly to address widespread speculation, Charlyn firmly dismissed claims that she had filed a lawsuit against her mother, Akosua Serwaa, or the family’s legal representative, Lawyer William Kusi of Dominion Chambers. She stressed that such reports were untrue and misleading.
According to Charlyn, her sole intention was to have her name removed from the legal process, not to challenge or oppose any individual involved in the matter.
“We went to court to take my name out of the letters of administration, and I want everyone to know I didn’t sue my mum or Lawyer William Kusi,” she stated. “The reason why I went to do that was I am entering a phase of my life where I’m graduating law school soon and wouldn’t have the time to represent my siblings in the letters of administration. That’s why I have decided to take my name out.”
Charlyn explained that her decision was guided by personal commitments and the demanding nature of the legal proceedings, which she believes would make it difficult for her to effectively represent the interests of her siblings.
Her clarification follows reports that surfaced on January 13, 2026, indicating that Akosua Serwaa had applied for letters of administration to manage the estate of her late husband. The application, filed at the appropriate court by Lawyer William Kusi, initially listed Akosua Serwaa, Charlyn Fosuh, and Daddy Lumba’s sister, Ernestina Fosu, as joint applicants.
On January 26, 2026, Charlyn formally petitioned the Kumasi High Court to have her name removed from the case. She later addressed the issue during a TikTok live session, where an audio recording was played to counter rumours suggesting internal family conflict or legal action against her mother.
Charlyn’s statement seeks to put to rest growing public speculation and refocus attention on the lawful administration of Daddy Lumba’s estate, emphasizing that her withdrawal is a personal and professional decision rather than a legal dispute within the family.
