A scuffle broke out during the recollation of the Ablekuma North parliamentary results on Wednesday, delaying the process.

The disagreement centered on the inclusion of a disputed pink sheet, which sparked tensions among party officials and supporters. The situation escalated when a party official slammed the table of the Electoral Commission (EC) officials, triggering chaos and a brief physical altercation.

Police officers intervened to restore order and prevent further disruptions. The incident occurred despite a High Court order for the EC to finalize the collation of results for Ablekuma North and three other constituencies.

Nathaniel Klimsman Avumeh, a Presiding Officer for one of the polling stations in Ablekuma North, had earlier denied authenticating figures from his polling station ahead of the recollation.

The recollation process for the other three constituencies was completed, with the results declared in favor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). However, the Ablekuma North results remain pending due to the ongoing dispute.
