Ghanaian-Nigerian musician Mr Eazi has revealed that his most financially rewarding career engagement did not come from performing his hit songs on stage but from serving as a master of ceremonies (MC) at an event in the South of France.
The musician made the revelation during an interview on 3Music, where he shared experiences from his career and explained how his work as an event host has opened doors to lucrative opportunities beyond music performances.
According to Mr Eazi, the event in the South of France earned him more money than any musical performance he had undertaken as an artiste.
“The most money I’ve ever been paid as an artiste, I didn’t get paid as Mr Eazi. I got paid as the MC in the South of France. You should see the shows,” he disclosed.
He further revealed that his MC engagements have taken him to major events in Sweden, where he has entertained audiences of between 7,000 and 10,000 people without performing a single song.
Recounting one of such experiences, Mr Eazi explained that his responsibility was simply to energise the crowd and keep the event moving.
“I did a show with a capacity of about 7,000 to 10,000 people in the middle of Sweden, where I didn’t even perform one song. I was just saying, ‘Are you ready now? One, two, three, go!’” he recounted.
The musician expressed gratitude for the opportunities his career has provided, noting that he has been able to explore different aspects of the entertainment industry while remaining active in music.
He also reflected on his album, The Evil Genius, describing the project as a reflection of his thoughts, creative direction and state of mind at the time he worked on it.
“I feel like I’ve been blessed to still be doing music. I put out my album, The Evil Genius, because that’s where my head was. It’s a piece of art, but for my fans who know me, they were taking it,” Mr Eazi stated.
His revelation highlights how artistes can expand their careers beyond music performances, with opportunities in hosting, entertainment and event presentation also offering significant financial rewards.
