The appointment committee in parliament is set to vet the three ministerial nominees, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor and Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine today in parliament.
According to reports, vetting has begun for Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, who was nominated by the office of the president John Dramani Mahama as finance minister designate.
John Abdulai Jinapor will follow after Dr. Forson. He has been nominated as Energy minister designate having experience in energy economics and finance
Then Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine who has been nominated as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Designate, will be the last on the vetting list. He is a seasoned legal practitioner.
In essence minority leader in parliament, Alexander Afenyo Markin has urged the entire public to fully participate in the vetting process. ” we urge members of the public once again to come forward with memo’s and any pertinent information regarding the nominees in the public interest.” he reiterated.
Meanwhile, the three nominees form the first badge of the president’s ministerial appointment. He has promised to name his cabinet ministers within the first 14 days after he has assumed office.
