Richie Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer of Lynx Entertainment, has refuted claims that the careers of artistes who leave the record label inevitably decline.

In an interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, Richie Mensah attributed the perceived “Lynx curse” to the challenges artistes face when transitioning to independent careers.

According to Richie Mensah, the music industry is inherently difficult, and artistes who leave the label’s setup often struggle to replicate the same level of success on their own.

“Music business is hard. When an artiste leaves that setup and they are on their own, it is difficult. They are not cursed, it is difficult,” he clarified.

Richie Mensah emphasized that Lynx Entertainment’s success is a result of the collective effort of its approximately 60 employees, who work tirelessly on various aspects of an artist’s project.

He noted that when artistes leave the label, they often lack the resources to employ a similar team, leading to a decrease in output.

“We have a team that’s sitting there working on creatives, a team working on PR, a team working on your visuals. When you leave and you don’t have the power to employ as many people, then the work, the input is dropped drastically, so the output is also dropped,” he explained.

Richie Mensah also cautioned against measuring success solely by numbers, suggesting that successes should also be evaluated based on the effort and resources invested, as well as profit margins.

Lynx Entertainment has worked with a range of artistes, including Eazzy, OJ Blaq, Asem, and Kuami Eugene. The label currently represents KiDi, DJ Vyrusky, and DSL.
