For the first time this year, fuel prices have decreased in Ghana, with some Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) reducing their prices at the pumps.

This development comes as the second pricing window of February commences.

Total Energies has led the way, lowering the price of petrol and diesel to GH¢15.99 per litre, down from GH¢16.15 previously. Shell has also adjusted its prices, reducing diesel to GH¢15.99 per litre and petrol to GH¢15.89 per litre.

This price drop marks a reversal of the trend seen in January, where fuel prices increased consecutively for three weeks.

Industry experts attribute the decrease to a decline in global crude oil prices, combined with other market factors influencing local pricing.
