The National Film Authority (NFA) has officially bid farewell to its outgoing Executive Secretary and CEO, Juliet Yaa Asantewa Asante, recognizing her significant contributions to the organization and Ghana’s film industry.
In a statement shared on its official Facebook page on Friday, March 7, 2025, the Authority expressed profound gratitude for Juliet Asante’s leadership, describing her as a trailblazer who played a pivotal role in shaping the NFA from its inception.
The statement lauded her unwavering dedication, highlighting her efforts in laying a solid foundation, breaking barriers, and inspiring many within the industry.
“From day one, she has led with passion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to this space,” the NFA wrote.
Throughout her tenure, Juliet spearheaded bold initiatives aimed at revitalizing Ghana’s film industry. Her advocacy for policies supporting local filmmakers and her commitment to promoting Ghanaian cinema on international platforms have left a lasting impact.
As her tenure comes to an end, the NFA has announced that renowned Ghanaian actress Kafui Danku will step in as the new CEO and Executive Secretary. Assisting her in this leadership role is actor James Gardiner, who has been appointed as her deputy.
The leadership transition marks a new chapter for the NFA, as the Authority continues its mission to elevate Ghanaian cinema on both local and global stages.
