Executive Member of Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Ahuma Bosco Ocansey widely known as Daddy Bosco has cautioned Ghanaian creatives with governmental appointments to hold engagements with their creative industries despite the political appointments.
The veteran broadcaster gave this remark during a media interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z whilst recounting some mistakes he claimed the former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mark Okraku-Mantey made when he was in office.
Daddy Bosco recounted how he admonished Mark Okraku-Mantey to have quarterly engagements with stakeholders in the creative industry where he sprung from, which unfortunately fell on deaf ears.
He noted that Mark Okraku-Mantey failed to draw the people in the creative Arts industry closer to him during the period when he was in governance.
“I am saying this to our guys who have been put in leadership positions. They need to have quarterly engagements because their four year tenure will end sooner than expected ” he admonished.
He mentioned names of current creatives who have been given governmental appointments (KOD, Rex Omar, Abeiku Santana) to adhere to his directive rather than neglect the industry.
This he believes will help these creatives with governmental appointments ace in their career even after the governmental appointment come to an end.
