“Promote Local Music”; DJ Mensah to Colleagues.

Celebrated Ghanaian Disc Jockey, DJ Mensah has called on Ghanaian colleagues to promote locally made music on the international front.

In a media interaction on Channel One TV’s Upside Down show yesterdayJune, 1, the celebrity emphasized the need for Ghanaian DJ’s to push the local music on to the international front.

He believes that the creative tunes being produced in Ghana are exceptional and deems fit to be promoted across various parts of the world. “we are very strong with what we do. We know our stuff very well.” he cited.

Aside the accolades, DJ Mensah urged his colleagues to refrain from unhealthy comparison with other countries [particularly Nigeria] that demeans the creative works produced in Ghana.

“As much as we are smaller, and we are always comparing ourselves to the Nigerians…We should stop looking at what other people are doing and focus on our own. Let us push our stuff.” he advised.

The media personality further lamented on the demand for Ghanaian music on the international front however Ghanaian DJ’s are unable to meet up to this demand. Citing UK as a key country where the promotion should be geared towards underscores King Charles III’s nomination of Daddy Lumba’s ‘Mpempem Do Me’ on his play list earlier this year.

Aside this appeal to his colleagues, DJ Mensah touched on some personal life choices he made and how it shaped his career decisions. The media personality who revealed that he started studying Business when he gained admission to a second cycle institution added that he had to divert to General Arts in order to follow his passion.

“it’s always about being passionate for me, I felt like this is what I had to do and today here I am.” he said.

He further revealed that he had an early start into his career field whilst serving as an entertainment prefect during his senior high.
