In a bold move to reinforce its code of conduct, the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has stepped up efforts to regulate student appearance on campus. On Wednesday, July 2, several students were asked to leave campus premises due to what university authorities described as a violation of the institution’s dress code.

A task force deployed to monitor adherence to the code reportedly approached students whose clothing was deemed inappropriate and instructed them to return home or to their hostels to change into acceptable attire before rejoining academic activities.

A student affected by the exercise, speaking under anonymity, confirmed that many were caught off guard by the enforcement, which took place early in the morning. “They told us to go and change before coming back. Some people were really surprised, but they were firm about it,” the student said.

While the university’s administration has not yet officially commented, the development signals a renewed commitment to reinforcing standards of discipline and professional appearance among the student body.

The initiative follows earlier warnings that the school would no longer tolerate what it considers indecent dressing, as part of broader efforts to preserve the institution’s professional image.
