Veteran Ghanaian musician, Akosua Agyapong, has once again taken a strong stance against the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), issuing a stern warning to its leaders over alleged financial impropriety.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, the outspoken highlife star accused some officials of embezzling funds meant for musicians. She insisted that such acts of mismanagement cannot be swept under the carpet.

“Those who are involved will vomit the money,” Agyapong declared, emphasizing that accountability must be enforced.

The singer also expressed disappointment in Ghana’s copyright institutions, suggesting that they are failing the very artistes they were established to protect. She urged them to raise their standards, demonstrate greater commitment, and ensure that musicians receive their rightful dues.

Agyapong’s comments add to her long-standing criticism of both GHAMRO and the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA). For years, she has accused these bodies of weak leadership and lack of transparency, which she argues have denied many musicians the benefits of their creative work.

Beyond her music career, Akosua Agyapong has consistently used her platform to advocate for reforms and accountability within the industry. Her latest outburst reflects the growing frustration of artistes who continue to question whether existing structures genuinely serve their interests.
