Barker-Vormawor Hospitalized After Complaining of Ill-Health, Police Confirm

The Ghana Police Service has confirmed that Oliver Barker-Vormawor, a prominent member of the Democracy Hub, has been admitted to the Police Hospital following complaints of ill-health.

In an official statement, the Police disclosed that both Barker-Vormawor and fellow group member, Fanny Otoo, were transferred to the hospital for medical care after they reported feeling unwell.

The statement detailed, “On Tuesday, 24th September 2024, suspect Fanny Otoo informed the Police that he was unwell as preparations were being made to take the suspects to court. He was immediately transported to the Police Hospital in Accra, where medical personnel attended to him and later admitted him for further treatment.”

The Police further noted that later that evening, Barker-Vormawor also reported feeling ill and was subsequently taken to the same hospital. “Suspect Oliver Barker-Vormawor reported sick late on the night of Tuesday, 24th September 2024. He was assessed by doctors and later admitted for treatment.”

In response to concerns regarding the well-being of the suspects, the Police emphasized that medical care had been promptly provided. “At no point have the Police denied these suspects any medical attention,” the statement reassured the public.
