President John Dramani Mahama has announced that he would direct the finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson to allocate funds towards the building of the phase II of the Blekusu Sea defence project in the 2025 budget.
During his visit to Agavedzi in the Volta Region yesterday March 6, prior to the recent impact of the tidal waves on citizens in the community, Mr. Mahama has addressed the need for the completion of the phase II of the sea Defense project in Blekusu.
Some residents of Salakope, Amutinu, and Agavedzi have been displaced due to the flooding in most homes.

The president in an official facebok post inscripted “Seeing the devastation reinforced my commitment to finding a long-term solution. I will instruct the finance minister to allocate funds in the 2025 budget for Phase Two of the Berekusu Sea Defence Project. We must protect these communities.”
Additionally some relief items and cash support were donated to affected residents in the community. ” I spent the afternoon with them, witnessing firsthand the challenges they face. We distributed food, relief items, and provided some cash support ” he revealed.
The president have indicated that efforts are underway to relocate these affected residents alongside the cconstruction of the sea defense.
