The Chief of Defense Staff, Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, has assured the public that the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) will act professionally to maintain peace and stability during the upcoming December elections.
Addressing a meeting with the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah emphasized that the GAF, in collaboration with other security agencies, is committed to protecting Ghana’s borders from any external threats.
“We want to assure our father and everyone that together, we will continue to maintain the peace and security of this country,” he stated. “We will continue to perform our duties as the Ghana Armed Forces to ensure that this country’s safety, stability, and peace are all well maintained, and we will need his prayers in this direction.”
He further affirmed GAF’s dedication to a peaceful electoral process. “As we prepare for this year’s elections, we want to assure everyone in Ghana that we will play our role professionally to ensure that peace and security are maintained.”
Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah’s commitment highlights the GAF’s ongoing efforts to ensure a secure environment before, during, and after the polls, reinforcing the importance of stability for the nation’s democratic process.
