President- Elect John Dramani mahama after consulting with the NDC’s National Executive and Parliament has nominated Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin as Speaker of the 9th Parliament.
A statement signed by the president’s special aide, Felix Kwakye Ofosu reveals Rt. Hon Bagbin’s level of experience as he served as a Member of Parliament for Nadwoli, held positions as both Minority and Majority Leader, and most recently, served as Speaker of the 8th Parliament as what qualifies him to be nominated as speaker for the 9th parliament of the 4th republic in Ghana.
Rt. Hon Bagbin has expressed profound gratitude to the president-elect and the parliament and promises to uphold justice and operate with the highest standards of integrity and transparency for the good of Ghana
Meanwhile the 8th parliament is set to dissolve today as preparations are underway to inaugurate president – elect John Dramani Mahama tomorrow January 7, 2025 as president of the country
