Ghanaian rapper Medikal has shared a thought-provoking observation about the unpredictable nature of fame and how quickly an artiste’s position in the entertainment industry can change.
In a post on X, the rapper noted that an artiste can rise to become one of the biggest names in the country but, within a short period, find themselves struggling for the same recognition they once enjoyed.
“You can be the biggest artiste in the country and become the biggest underground artiste in this same country in the blink of an eye, Ghana na your mate?” Medikal wrote.

Medikal’s statement highlights the competitive and constantly changing nature of Ghana’s music industry. With new artistes emerging, music trends changing and audience interests shifting rapidly, maintaining relevance can be just as difficult as achieving fame in the first place.
