Born on January 5, 1958, in Agogo, Ghana, Daniel Amakye Dede, affectionately known as “Iron Boy,” has been a driving force in Ghana’s highlife music scene for over four decades. Early Beginning Amakye Dede’s musical journey began in 1973 when he joined the Kumapim Royals as a composer and vocalist. Under the guidance of the legendary highlife singer, Akwasi Ampofo Agyei, the group achieved immense success with hits like “Abebi Bewua Eso,” “Wanware Me A,” “Odo Mani Agyina,” and “Ohohoo Batani.” Amakye Dede’s talent and dedication quickly earned him recognition, and he soon became a sought-after musician in Ghana.
