The 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards 2026 came off successfully on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Accra International Conference Centre, celebrating outstanding achievements in the Ghanaian music industry.The glamorous night brought together some of the biggest names in Ghanaian entertainment, as musicians, industry players, celebrities and fans gathered to honour excellence in music across various genres.
Leading the night was Black Sherif, who emerged as the biggest winner after clinching the prestigious Artiste of the Year award for the second time, having first won the title in 2023. The award-winning musician walked away with a total of five awards, cementing his dominance in the Ghanaian music scene following the success of his critically acclaimed “Iron Boy” album.
Black Sherif won Album/EP of the Year with “Iron Boy,” Best Afropop Song with “Sacrifice,” Best Hip Hop Song with “Where Dem Boys,” and Songwriter of the Year with “Sacrifice,” in addition to the ultimate Artiste of the Year honour.
Rapper Medikal also enjoyed an impressive night, securing four awards. His hit song “Shoulder,” featuring Shatta Wale and Beeztrap KOTM, won Most Popular Song of the Year, Best Hiplife Song, and Collaboration of the Year. Medikal additionally won Best Hiplife/Hip Hop Artiste.

Highlife sensation Kofi Kinaata also shined on the night, taking home two awards including Best Highlife Song for “It Is Finished” and Best Highlife Artiste.
Rising global star Moliy earned two awards as well, including International Collaboration of the Year for the remix of “Shake It To The Max,” which featured Shenseea, Skillibeng and Silent Addy.
Veteran highlife legend Daddy Lumba was honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for his immense contribution to Ghanaian music over the decades.
Other notable winners on the night included Wendy Shay, who won Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste, Stonebwoy who secured Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste, and gospel musician Diana Hamilton, who was crowned Best Gospel Artiste.
The event also celebrated emerging talent, with Kojo Blak winning the Best New Artiste award.
