The Accra High Court has granted an application by lawyers for New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, seeking to defer judgment in the Samreboi case.
The court subsequently adjourned the delivery of its judgment, which had been expected earlier, to July 20.
The application was filed by Chairman Wontumi’s legal team, requesting additional time before the court delivered its ruling. The presiding judge approved the request, resulting in the postponement of the judgment date.
Following the court’s decision, Chairman Wontumi was seen reacting to the development outside the courtroom. Although details of his remarks were not immediately available, the adjournment means the parties involved will now await the court’s final determination later this month.
The Samreboi case has attracted significant public interest, with many closely monitoring the legal proceedings and awaiting the High Court’s eventual ruling.
