A group of women broadcasters has mobilized in Bongo, a district in the Upper East Region, to promote peace and unity ahead of the upcoming elections. Demonstrating their commitment to non-violence, these professionals took to the streets in a peaceful campaign aimed at fostering harmony throughout the electoral process.
The event, which drew participation from several local media figures, emphasized the importance of responsible journalism in curbing electoral tensions. Through placards and community engagement, the broadcasters urged citizens to eschew violence and embrace peaceful dialogue as the elections draw near.
Speaking at the rally, some participants highlighted the media’s crucial role in shaping public opinion, noting that the responsibility to promote peace extends beyond mere reporting. “As women in broadcasting, we are committed to ensuring that our work contributes positively to the electoral process by advocating for peace and unity,” one speaker stated.
