Ghana’s Supreme Court resumes hearing today, November 11, to deliver its ruling on the case involving vacant parliamentary seats, following an adjournment on October 30.
The case centers around preventing the ousting of two New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs and one National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP seeking re-election as independents.
Additionally, the Independent MP for Fomena, now running on the NPP ticket, is also involved.
Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo instructed Speaker Alban Bagbin to submit relevant documents by November 6, after Bagbin’s lawyer requested more time.
Previously, Attorney General Godfred Dame argued that the Speaker should be excluded from proceedings, citing constitutional interpretation mandates.
