The Electoral Commission of Ghana has declared its intentions to re run the just ended council of states elections for North East and Ashanti Regions on Monday Feburary 17, 2025.
In a release signed by the deputy chairman of operations Samuel Tettey, the North East council of state elections saw a tie between the top two candidates, each securing six votes hence the call for re-run.
On the flip side, the council of states elections in the Ashanti Region were not concluded due to the chaos disrupted the election process.
The Electoral Commission has formally notified the Ghana Police Service and the National
Election Security Taskforce to intensify security measures during both elections on Monday to ensure a peaceful election process.
